James M. Johnston Jr., MD, FAANS
Dr. Johnston is an associate professor in the pediatric division of the University of Alabama, Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery. He practices at the Children's Hospital of Alabama and is the medical director of the Children's Hospital of Alabama Global Surgery Program. His practice includes all aspects of patient care related to neurological surgery, including neurosurgical oncology (brain and spine tumors), Gamma Knife radiosurgery, neurocritical care and trauma, complex spinal surgery, craniosynostosis, vascular neurosurgery and congenital disorders. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery.
