Phillip B. “Jay” Storm, MD, FAANS


Dr. Storm is the Leslie N. Sutton endowed chair of the division of neurosurgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the director of the Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine (D3b). Dr. Storm earned his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA). He then completed his residency in neurological surgery and his fellowship in neuro-oncology research at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He did a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at CHOP and then joined the faculty at CHOP and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Storm is internationally recognized for his research and surgical treatment of brain and spine tumors and is a leader in endoscopic skull base with a clinical and research focus on craniopharyngiomas. He co-directs the Resnick/Storm Translational Research Laboratory, a part of D3b. Dr. Storm helped launch CAVATICA, a cloud-based biomedical data analysis platform, as part of the White House precision medicine initiative. It allows researchers to collaboratively access, analyze and share data about diseases affecting children.
