Laila Malani Mohammad, MD
Dr. Mohammad is completing her pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, under the training of Dr. Sandi Lam. She attended Vanderbilt University for both undergraduate and medical school, where she was exposed to pediatric neurosurgery by Dr. Noel Tulipain. Laila completed her residency at the University of New Mexico, where she completed an enfolded fellowship in neurocritical care. Her research has focused on traumatic brain injury and cortical spreading depolarization, for which Dr. Mohammad received the Young Investigator Award and presented at the 2018 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting. She is also interested in the socioeconomic education of the neurosurgery community, having won the Louise Eisenhard Travel Scholarship for her work on documentation and coding. Dr. Mohammad is also a consulting neurosurgeon for the Ismaili Muslim community of North America, India, Pakistan and Central Asia.
