Ms. Kim Pollock RN, MBA, CPC, CMDP

Ms. Pollock, a consultant and speaker at KarenZupko & Associates, Inc., has been teaching the AANS Managing Coding & Reimbursement Challenges in Neurosurgery coding course for over 20 years. She helps neurosurgeons improve collections and efficiency and understands the complexity of coding and reimbursement issues specific to neurosurgery practices – both from a clinical perspective and from a payor side. She is an expert in analyzing neurosurgeon documentation and in reengineering practices to enhance the reimbursement process. She has presented seminars and workshops for physicians and their staff on behalf of the AANS, the CNS, the NASS, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS). Ms. Pollock has also been an invited speaker for several meetings. Ms. Pollock is the recipient of the prestigious Presidential Citation Award from the Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Nurses as well as an Honor Award from the AAO-HNS. She holds a Master of Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She is also a certified coder through the AAPC and a certified medical documentation professional through the American Institute of Healthcare Compliance (AIHC).
