Kevin K. Kumar, MD, PhD
Dr. Kumar is in his fifth year of residency at Stanford University. He attended Cornell University, where he majored in biological sciences with a concentration in neurobiology and behavior. After graduation, he joined the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at Vanderbilt University to earn his MD/PhD. dr. Kumar completed his PhD in neuroscience, studying the regulation of manganese in both Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease. He is currently completing his NIH R25-funded postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Marius Wernig at the Stanford Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. After graduating residency, Dr. Kumar hopes to pursue fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery followed by a career in academic neurosurgery.
