Lauren Waldron PA-C, MHA

Course Planner, Director of Advanced Practice, APP Manager, Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates, Charlotte, NC

Lauren Waldron, PA-C, MHA, has been providing care for neurosurgical patients for over 25 years in Charlotte, NC, at Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates.

Lauren is originally from Winston-Salem, NC, where she lived until fourth grade when her mom and stepdad moved their family to Midland, TX. She knew from a young age that she wanted to be in health care after her dad passed away from leukemia at age 30. She was inspired by his passion for helping others as an OB/GYN who was beloved by his patients, and he continued to treat them while undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

She attended Texas A&M University where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science, and it was there where she first learned of the Physician Assistant profession. She was accepted to the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Physician Assistant program in Dallas, Texas, and following graduation she returned to her home state of North Carolina.

Her first and only job for the past 25 years has been with Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates in Charlotte. She worked with AANS past president, Dr. Tony Asher, as his PA for ten years until the birth of her son. After fifteen years of working at the hospital with call coverage 24/7/365 days a year (and two young children), she transitioned to working in the outpatient clinic. She treats a wide variety of pediatric and adult patients, and currently is the manager of the outpatient APP team.

She more recently completed her Master’s degree in Health Administration where she graduated with honors in 2022 from Queens University in Charlotte.

Outside of the clinic, Lauren enjoys hiking, running, yoga, cooking (*Barefoot Contessa recipes*), practicing piano, volunteering with her church and local charities to support the community, and spending time with her husband, two children, and their dog Sadie.
